When to visit

Two seasons, both spectacular

Dec – May

Warm & sunny season

Calmer seas, warmer water for snorkeling, and lush green islands. Peak nesting for sea turtles and land birds.

Jun – Nov

Cool & dry season

Nutrient-rich currents bring whales, dolphins and abundant marine life. Best for diving and seabird activity.

What to pack

Pack light, pack smart

Reef-safe sunscreen & a wide-brim hat
Quick-dry clothing & a light rain layer
Sturdy water shoes or sandals
Refillable water bottle & dry bag
Camera with a zoom lens — the wildlife is close, but not that close

Three steps to Santa Cruz

Fly to Baltra (GPS)

Daily flights from Quito or Guayaquil, about 2 hours.

Cross to Santa Cruz

A short ferry over the Itabaca Channel, then a scenic drive.
